Fundraising for your programs is an essential part of the survival of innovative programs. However, we understand that our innovation school and innovation nonprofit members may need or want support in this process. Nonetheless, we provide support to help you raise funds in a variety of different methods throughout the year. Our Center for Development is here to support you. Learn more about our programs below.
It is important to note that the programs focus on innovation school and innovation nonprofit members only. However, youth have to lead activities to gain approval. Furthermore, funds raised cannot benefit a specific youth but have to benefit a program provided by our innovation partner as outlined in their annual plan. Nonetheless, any funds raised is usable for approved programming to benefit the youth of your program. Lastly, keep in mind that if your organization raises more than your school or nonprofit allowable amount then a maintenance fee is applied.
GEN I FUNDRAISERS
Don’t recreate the wheel.
A great way to fundraise for your programs is to participate in already established activities. Generation Innovation already holds fundraisers throughout the year that you can join. Also, for each additional volunteer you bring, you gain an additional percentage of the profit from the fundraiser. Furthermore, our activities range from carnivals, auctions, concerts, and much more. Nonetheless, there is something for everyone to participate in at different seasons of the year.
How do the percentages work?
We’ll use our summer carnival as an example. The carnival lasts from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM. However, volunteers are asked to arrive 60-minutes before the event (10:00 AM). Furthermore, they receive a 30-minute lunch break and two 15-minute volunteer breaks. The full-time equivalent of a volunteer is 8-hours. Nonetheless, you can split the time into two shifts of 4, but you receive credit for each 8-hour volunteer you have. Additionally, if we need a total of 100 volunteers for the event and you provide 25 full-time volunteers then you will receive 25% of the profit for your account. Furthermore, if the profit from the carnival is $4,000 then your programs will receive $1,000 for the day of volunteering.
Foster community and funds.
Raising funds on your campus is another great way to support your programs. Furthermore, youth in your program work with our volunteers and staff to plan and execute activities and events. Also, youth will have access to Generation Innovation owned equipment and materials to support their activities. Some examples of on-site fundraisers are movie nights, game nights, spa days, and much more. Also, we have popcorn machines, shaved ice machines, and much more. However, variable costs will be factored into your admission price. Lastly, we will also help you obtain the appropriate licenses to protect your school.
Connect with the community.
You should engage with the greater community to raise funds. Furthermore, youth in your program work with our volunteers and staff to plan and execute on activities and events. Also, youth will have access to Generation Innovation owned equipment and materials to support their activities. Some examples of public events are dinner auctions, dances, music concerts, and much more. However, variable costs will be factored into your admission price. Lastly, we will also help you obtain free or affordable venue options for your next event and market it to the public.
Real-world business experience.
Periodically, as a support to our innovation school members, we partner with a local business for a takeover day. First, students receive training from the business owner. Furthermore, the students come in during off-hours/slow hours for the business and run the business. Lastly, all profits are donated to innovation programs for the school.
Recurring and passive income.
Our last method of fundraising that we offer is membership benefits. Innovation Tribe of America on behalf of Generation Innovation curates benefits for our members. Furthermore, these benefits include discounts to restaurants, hotels, amusement parks, insurance, and much more. Also, the membership renews annually, which means for each new member you recruit you’ll see an income as long as they keep their membership active. Lastly, they will also receive discounts to events we hold as a member.
